Business owners, entrepreneurs, educators, nonprofit leaders, economic development professionals, elected officials, and residents with an interest in Wisconsin’s economic future are invited to attend the 2026 Wisconsin Economic Summit, sponsored by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).
This year’s summit, with the theme “Determination to Dream,” will be held at the Pablo Center in Eau Claire on Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026.
In a release, WEDC, the state’s leading economic development organization, said the summit will “explore how businesses and communities in our state can strengthen their competitive advantages, invest in talent and innovation, and create a more prosperous economy” and “attract leaders from business, education, government, and community organizations to explore issues of access and affordability, learn how to address rising disparities in economic opportunities, and discuss Wisconsin’s next big opportunities for growth, innovation, and prosperity.”
“‘Determination to Dream’ reflects both the resilience and optimism that define Wisconsin,” said WEDC Secretary and CEO John W. Miller. “This summit is an opportunity for leaders across the state to come together and face the challenges shaping today’s economy head-on and take practical action to push towards a future where everyone can thrive.”
WEDC said attendees will explore themes critical to Wisconsin’s future, including:
• Taking on shared workforce challenges with practical, real-world approaches.
• Offering a clear view of young professionals starting a career today and where they see opportunities ahead.
• Looking forward to the ideas, industries, and partnerships defining Wisconsin’s future.
“Through keynote talks, breakout sessions, and networking, participants will explore solutions and strategies and build connections to help their communities thrive,” WEDC stated. “Programming will feature national thought leaders and local visionaries who will share fresh ideas, bold perspectives, and real-world lessons from some of Wisconsin’s most pressing challenges.”
George Packer, a nationally recognized author and staff writer for The Atlantic, will deliver this year’s keynote address. WEDC said Packer’s message will “explore the social, economic, and cultural forces shaping America and what they mean for leaders navigating uncertainty.”
The hotel reservation deadline for the event is Sunday, Aug. 30.
