  1. Johann was the son of a Peasant from Waltersdorf, Germany. Johann was an Infantryman of the 16th Reserve Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 9th Company. He was a recipient of the Iron Cross 2nd class. On July 16th 1917 at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon after 3 years of “loyal fulfillment of duty” Johann was killed in action by an explosion from an artillery shell on a battlefield in Northern France. He was 29 years old at the time.
