CINCINNATI —

Fresh off appearances in Middletown and at Price Hill Chili, Vice President JD Vance arguably made his most unexpected stop of the weekend yet: an Eastgate Waffle House.

Vance confirmed that he ate at the restaurant on Saturday morning, later taking a picture with the restaurant’s staff and sharing it on social media.

“A big thanks to the staff of Waffle House in Cincy for great food and great service!” the vice president wrote at 12:24 p.m. on X.

In the photo, Vance could be seen wearing a sweatshirt from his university alma mater, Ohio State.

Before the appearance was confirmed on the vice president’s accounts, rumors of the visit had already begun to circulate on social media after Secret Service vehicles were spotted by local residents outside the Waffle House at 870 Eastgate Drive.

Additional details about the visit and the context surrounding it were not immediately shared by Vance on Saturday.

The latest public sighting of the vice president in Greater Cincinnati comes just a day after he had stopped at Cleveland-Cliffs’ Middletown Works steel plant to announce a $1 billion investment in the facility that was being made with assistance from a Department of Energy grant. Later in the day, he then stopped at Price Hill Chili to campaign with Eric Conroy, the Republican nominee for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District who is challenging incumbent Democrat Greg Landsman.
