Acclaimed Trance Duo Key4050 and The Voice UK singer-songwriter Bo Bruce send us into the stratosphere with their newest track ‘Empty Space’. Finding its home via Armada Music, the track ought to be an automatic Trance classic. The new release made for a magical closing for Key4050’s set at Luminosity 2026 in the Netherlands this past June. Ready for this journey?

‘Empty Space’

The duo of Bryan Kearney and John O’ Callaghan never plays it safe, and ‘Empty Space’ is the perfect example of their risk-taking. Beginning with a rather intense and suspenseful build, the track is filled with vibrant colors and echoes, which support a bouncy yet positive Acid bass. Moreover, the serene and synthy string arrangements open up the floor for the heavenly vocals of Bo Bruce. With a small break in the kicks, ‘Empty Space’ fills up with emotion and hope, as the uplifting progression becomes the main character. As Bruce leads into the drop, all the elements merge to curate an automatic, timeless classic.

The duo shared the story of the track on their social media. Three years ago, they wrote the piano demo, but no vocals compared to the musical elements. After being put aside for a while, Kearney sent the demo to Bo Bruce, with whom he had collaborated in the past for their track ‘Shine A Light’. Her vocals gave the track the meaning it was missing. Then, they brought out the first version of ‘Empty Space’ during Dreamstate Socal 2025. The final version then made its way to A State of Trance and finally Luminosity this year.

Unstoppable forces as solo artists, the duo continues to be an inimitable act across the world. ‘Empty Space’ is the official first single of their brand-new album, which will be coming out early next year. This will prove to be an exciting time for Key4050, since their last album came out six years ago.
