As we have no spectacular news in the area, I give you… Papanași, traditional Romanian & Moldovan fried pastry dessert, doughnut shaped with a small ball on top, usually filled with soft cheese/urdă, served covered in sour cream and with a sour jam topping (sour cherry, blueberry or forrest fruits)

  1. Correctly cooked, they are crispy outside and soft inside; a combination of sweet and sour (fruits); what is pictured is enough to kill an adult, especially if served as a dessert after a full meal. I’m just kidding; but really, you can skip the meal and go directly for “papanași”.
