Tories are a corrupt mafia! They’ve destroyed this country. Its now a hell hole.
I don’t get this. If strikes are going to cause recession until they get what they want; won’t that mean by striking enough that a recession happens then many would be having job losses because companies start to trim? Isn’t this like shooting your own foot?
One thing the Conservatives are good at is doing absolutely anything and everything they can to remain in power.
Lol they are raising interest rates to cause a recession in a shit attempt to get inflation under control. Some strikes aren’t going to bring about recession, pretty shit talking points from the TUC tbh. I get why she’s promoting this line of attack with the public, but it’s pretty disingenuous
I think the only thing we can be sure of is that any measures to ‘improve’ things for the rest of us that Boris and his pals implement will ultimately hurt us, and benefit them – as is their track record; for example, the 95% mortgage which is open to both first-time buyers AND existing property owners.
Well yeah that one of the things he’s been doing
They risked killing off huge chunks of the population to appease them. Not surprised.
They’re in power the tories(referring to tuc), it’s difficult being in opposition because you want to change things…but you can’t (Tories in power, labour is just stuck there like super glue forever in opposition) whelp
Can we just dump FPTP already, we desperately desperately need our MPs to actually represent us.
What we have now just isn’t democracy.
Even for the alleged party of business, the Tories must realise that the economy is screwed if people do not have spend money or do not have enough money to spend in it. As much as the Tories hate the unions and hate workers, there is going to come a point where companies start to complain that no one is buying anything. The super-rich hoarding all the wealth offshore won’t save the economy, it will be normal people just buying the basics.
The ship sailed on risking a recession around about 2016 when it became a permanent feature of the fabled electoral cycle. Pre-election boom. Mid-term bust. Rinse. Repeat. A lot of rinsing and repeating on the basis of the amount of money laundering it involves. An endless cycle of “cutting your cloth” and “pulling together” and “jam tomorrow”.
