Lavaforming – Could robots harvest Iceland’s molten lava for future building material?

Since December 2023, nine volcanic eruptions have occurred near the Icelandic town of Grindavik, forcing residents to repeatedly evacuate – scientists say that volcanic activity is far from over. Now, a group of Icelandic architects is pitching a novel, futuristic way to harness those vast lava fields – by turning molten rock into a construction material.
