Moldova urgently needs to strengthen its air defense following another violation of the country’s airspace by a drone. Nosatîi emphasized this while commenting on the incident that occurred on Monday.
During a Russian drone attack on Ukrainian cities, one of the drones entered Moldovan airspace before heading toward Romania. Air traffic over Moldova was suspended for 15 minutes due to the recorded violation.

Nosatîi stressed that drone flights over Moldova pose a threat to both civilians and aircraft operating flights over the country. Each such incident requires a swift response and additional security measures.
He also stated that repeated drone incursions demonstrate the need to modernize the National Army. This primarily involves the procurement of modern surveillance systems, target detection equipment, and airspace protection systems.

According to Moldova’s National Army, since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Russian drones have illegally crossed the country’s airspace around 70 times.
