  1. I struggled on £15 an hour. In the past I cleaned part time for £9.50 an hour and it’s hard work, I was sweaty and out of breath and the clients expect superhuman effort and meticulous cleaning. It might be low skilled but it’s hard work and an essential service.

  2. So minimum wage to London living wage? I mean congratulations to them, it’s a step but all London employers should strive to pay London living wage.

  3. These low paid types of workers are the people that really need inflation busting pay rises. I went up to £11.50 this year myself. I got a 12% pay rise. Some of my in-store colleagues are on £10. £10 an hour just isn’t enough to live on today.

Honestly, I have no respect for employers that are paying £9.50 an hour and then are stood around scratching their head wondering why their staff are either all leaving or striking. That’s just capitalism at work.

  4. Why the fuck are you guys paying Latin Americans to be cleaners thousands of miles from home?

Why not pay Britons £20 an hour to work in Britain.

May I ask where the Brits are supposed to work if they’re being undercut?

We have the same problem in America
