Imagine if a middle eastern restaurant in Paris banned berets and stripey jumpers.
This could probably all have been avoided.
They also stopped men who were wearing traditional local clothes, this is a complete disrespect of local customs and i say is racist.
Giving locals the REAL french experience, just like they would going to France!
Well, they’ve got some cojones
I can’t even fathom this.
Someone’s getting their dick lopped off for this…
Restaurants enforce dress codes pretty much all over the world. That said, actions have consequences. Pissing off 90% of your potential customers is usually not a good move.
The only part I’m a little concerned about is the fact the authorities may have closed it down (the article apparently isn’t sure either).
THAT is disturbing.
So no women allowed i guess.
based and baguette pilled
Ok now I’m usually for This but this Saudi Arabia and therefore a stupid decision on The behalf on the restaurant
I thought we didn’t lke it when immigrants force their customs in their host country?

Worse than Saudi Arabia executing gays, the guts these french have!
We have the right, even the duty, to ban such trash in OUR country.
In other people’s countries, not so much.
That restaurant is being stupid.
*French immigrants don’t respect culture of their new country, impose their customs on the locals, fail to integrate.*
– Alternate title
That’s dumb from the restaurant, if you don’t want to deal with shitholes local custom then leave the country. I sense cognitive dissonance.
I checked it because it seemed dumb and here what i found in a newspaper (i translate it quickly so probably some mistakes) :
“The restaurant chain issued a statement in which it pointed out that its Jeddah branch was only following the policy of the Saudi-run resort, which imposes a dress code on its members, adding that this restaurant… had closed two months ago.
This case, according to Al-Khaleej Al-Jadid, “is the proof of the existence of a culture war in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia due to the social transformation”. Under the impetus of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman, all-out social reforms have been made in the kingdom. Progress that does not please to everyone.”
So i am now dubious it has been the restaurant’s decision as i don’t see a luxury brand taking the risk to have a bad reputation in a rich country where they know the cultural norms before setting there. Or they’re really stupid
