After returning from Odesa, a Dutch municipal leader delivered a message of gratitude that reached far beyond Ukraine’s borders.
Juliette Broersen, a member of the Amsterdam municipal council and leader of the Volt faction, said after a trip to Odesa that in its war against Russian aggression, Ukraine is defending not only its own independence but also the security of all Europe.
She shared her position during an event in Amsterdam organized to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day.
I have just returned from Odesa. What Ukraine is doing is not only defending itself, but also defending all of Europe. And we are immensely grateful to you for that. I am very glad that this event was organized. We have an opportunity to pause for a moment, honor Ukraine, thank you, and reflect together on everything that is happening. So I simply want to say: thank you, Ukraine, for everything you are doing.
