What’s with the accent here? this is the third time I’ve listened to an Irish person speak on a media platform with this accent. what is it? wheres it from? I won’t lie it’s very hard to listen to

  1. Very obviously from the Borough of Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown by how he pronounced the t in court. That’s an inbred thing, you grow up hearing it.

    Trying to put a radio accent on, to flatten out the normal speaking voice. If he slowed down and perhaps deepened his voice a little it wouldn’t sound so odd.

    It’s very much a media voice, like the posh voice your Ma used to put on when she answered the phone back in the day

  2. Speaking of the Verve – did you know they made pretty much no money from that song until, I think, 2012? There was a legal dispute over a sample they used and Rolling Stones got all the money raised from the track
