“The Minister @DeptHousingIRL has no responsibility for housing” apparently
What an answer!!! Basically, the Minister @DeptHousingIRL has no responsibility for housing….. 🤣🤣🤣 You couldn't make this up. If it wasn't so serious it would be hilarious.

>Relevancy of Questions. 44.
>Questions addressed to a member of the Government must relate to public affairs
connected with his or her Department, or to matters of administration for which he or she is
officially responsible (including bodies under the aegis of his or her Department in respect of
Government policy). Provided that, at his or her absolute discretion, the Ceann Comhairle may
permit a Question or topical issue in relation to such a body where a member has made a
reasonable request for information to that body, relating to the member’s functions as a public
representative, and an adequate response is not forthcoming.
Surely it’d be up to the Local Authority to set up a housing task force, does the minister actually have the authority to do what is being asked?
I’m guessing he doesn’t and Pringle either knows this and asked the question in bad faith or doesn’t know this when he really should.
*”Your’s is not to question why, your’s is but to produce and buy”*
It’s a council matter, always has been.
The actual confusion is why we have a minister for housing.
Oh good, excellent
Excuse me but did you read the letter?
It says that he is not responsible for what the local authorities decide to do.
What is ~~General Order 66~~ Standing Order 44 anyway?
I can’t stand Thomas Pringle. It drives me mad when he’s on a political debate show. He’s constantly trying to misrepresent things so he can be heard to be laying into the government. He’s against everything and for nothing.
Last time I heard him he was outright lying in saying that the increase in fuel costs was mostly due to the carbon tax which was an outright lie since it only contributed to 10% of the increase in prices. Thankfully Neasa Hourigan was there to call out his bullshit as being cynical politicking.
