Kenya’s National Assembly Speaker, Moses Masika Wetang’ula, has described meeting Pope Leo XIV as a moment of reflection and “fellowship”, recalling the Holy Father’s call for peace, hope and service to humanity.
The Kenyan government official attended Pope Leo XIV’s Wednesday, August 26 general audience at St Peter’s Basilica, where he joined pilgrims from different parts of the world to receive the Holy Father’s blessings and message of peace.
“This was a moment of reflection, fellowship and goodwill as we joined the faithful from across the world to receive the Holy Father’s message of peace, hope and service to humanity,” Wetang’ula posted on Facebook on Wednesday, August 26.
The Kenyan government official attended the general audience alongside other members of the Kenyan parliament.
At the Vatican, Hon. Wetang’ula also interacted with Fr. James Wambugu, a member of the Order of St. Augustine, expressing satisfaction with his welcome and service.
