Karoline Leavitt marked her last day as White House press secretary by calling the moment bittersweet and thanking reporters she worked with at the White House.
She served in the role after becoming the youngest White House press secretary in history when President Trump began his second term in January 2025. Leavitt said she planned to spend more time with her family and her newborn daughter while staying on as a top outside adviser to the administration.
“The briefings and what I just did on TV is 10%, 90% of it is taking all of your calls at 5 in the morning and 11 p.m. at night. And I won’t really miss that, but I will miss working with you guys every day,” Leavitt said.
The White House press secretary also thanked reporters for being her colleagues and partners at the White House.
Leavitt gave birth to her second child in May. President Trump had not said who would replace her.
