Cypriot media reports that a production company is proposing funding and organising a national selection show to determine the nation’s entry for Eurovision 2027.
I Love Style reports that a production company has approached the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency regarding the organisation of a national selection to select Cyprus’ entry for the 71st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The company is reported to be proposing organising the selection and covering all costs associated with the selection, with the proposal being seriously examined.
Cyprus has not held a televised national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest since its return to the competition in 2015. The country last seriously planned to hold a national selection for Eurovision in 2024. Fame Factory was due to select the Cypriot representative; however, due to objections from the Greek broadcaster ERT regarding a Greek TV show being used to select the Cypriot representative, and the show’s planned use of Eurovision branding, the plans were axed.
CyBC, the Cypriot broadcaster, has not yet confirmed publicly that it will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. However, earlier this summer the broadcaster stated that it is the policy of the channel to compete in all three EBU music competitions: Eurovision Song Contest, Junior Eurovision Song Contest and Eurovision Young Musicians.
Cyprus was represented by Antigoni and “Jalla” at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna. She placed 19th in the final scoring 75 points, including 12 points from the Greek jury.

Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result was in 2018, when Eleni Foureira and the song “Fuego” finished second with 436 points. Before then, their best results in the contest came in the form of three fifth-place finishes. These fifth-place finishes were Anna Vissi with “Mono i agapi” in 1982, Hara & Andreas Constantinou with “Mana mou” in 1997 and Lisa Andreas with “Stronger Every Minute” in 2004. Cyprus currently holds the record for the most participations in Eurovision without a win.
