Ukraine, Romania to discuss reciprocal minority-language education / The New Voice of Ukraine

Dan made the announcement in Chisinau at a joint news
conference with his Moldovan and Ukrainian counterparts, Maia Sandu and Volodymyr
Zelenskyy. Dan and Zelenskyy traveled to the Moldovan capital to celebrate the
35th anniversary of the country’s independence.

“Tomorrow, we will have another meeting of our joint
commission on the minorities of both countries, during which we will discuss
important issues,” the Romanian president said.

“The most important issue, of course, is education —
education in the national languages of both countries. Regarding our relations,
I am very pleased that our countries are cooperating, and this meeting is
another sign of that.”

Dan said the trilateral meeting also covered energy,
infrastructure and security, as well as Ukraine’s and Moldova’s integration
into the European Union.

“We discussed infrastructure projects and energy projects
involving interconnectors,” he added.

“Through the SAFE program [EU’s security infrastructure investment
fund], Romania will continue building highways to the corridor and through
Moldova to its northern border with Ukraine. This will help strengthen
connectivity among our countries.”

“We also discussed the threats facing our countries, as well
as the European path of these two countries, which Romania fully supports.”

At the same event, Zelenskyy said Ukraine and Moldova were
working on new joint projects in security, energy, and infrastructure.

“Now, it is especially important to stand together and strengthen one another,” he said.
