Ring them, tell them you’d like a set rate applied retroactively, see what they can offer. Then ring a couple more and see what they can do. They won’t be able to reduce your last bill, but it might be worth switching.
Any energy company I’ve ever used will offer a discounted rate to stay on for a set contracted time. And most will apply the rate to just issued bills.
Way she goes
You must be out of contract, they up the rates automatically if you don’t formally renew. Either switch provider to get a new customer discount, or contact SSE to renew. You can do it online also.
Every supplier in the country has raised rates and that will continue for quite some time yet.
Any explanation as to why SSE put their rates up? As a 100% green energy market turmoil shouldn’t really affect it
I wasn’t aware the price of wind went up
*Every single thing* is going up. It’s just disheartening.
This must be that amazing competition that the capitalists told us would keep prices down.
Wind and sun is more cost now
My next bill from Energia will have increased prices. Glad I over read the meter and paid for most of the next bill at the lower rate, at least that will take the sting out of it for the first couple of months
That’s airtricity right? Isn’t all their energy made from wind? Why would gas shortages impact their wind energy generated?

… you don’t say price freeze, you just do it…
I got an email from Electric Ireland today pretty much advising me to brace myself for my next bill.
