SSE new bill today. Day rate up by ~27% – night rate up by ~39%.

  1. Ring them, tell them you’d like a set rate applied retroactively, see what they can offer. Then ring a couple more and see what they can do. They won’t be able to reduce your last bill, but it might be worth switching.

    Any energy company I’ve ever used will offer a discounted rate to stay on for a set contracted time. And most will apply the rate to just issued bills.

  2. You must be out of contract, they up the rates automatically if you don’t formally renew. Either switch provider to get a new customer discount, or contact SSE to renew. You can do it online also.

  3. Any explanation as to why SSE put their rates up? As a 100% green energy market turmoil shouldn’t really affect it

  4. My next bill from Energia will have increased prices. Glad I over read the meter and paid for most of the next bill at the lower rate, at least that will take the sting out of it for the first couple of months

  5. That’s airtricity right? Isn’t all their energy made from wind? Why would gas shortages impact their wind energy generated?
