Swedish specialty steel maker Alleima will invest about SEK 220 million to expand its existing plant in Mehsana, India. The investment will increase production capacity for advanced tubes used in the chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer, and gas industries.

The new capacity is expected to start operations in 2028. It is expected to help shorten delivery times in the region and support selected export markets.

Göran Björkman, President and CEO of Alleima, said the investment will bring more advanced production capabilities closer to customers as demand grows in India’s chemical, petrochemical and gas markets. He added that the move will support the company’s strategy to grow profits in India and neighboring countries.
