Croatia’s better-than-expected GDP growth in 2021 results in cut to EU funding

  1. The same cut is present for Bulgaria as well. More than 500 M Euros less to be received.

    Great success! /s

  2. The mass-reshoring from China happening for a dozen different reasons benefits the Balkans. Much cheaper labor than China’s skyrocketing costs due to their demographic collapse, lower transport costs due to proximity to final markets, no zero COVID disruptions, no possible sanctions.

  3. Well they got the funding to get there and now they can sustain themselfs and don’t need the funding anymore, the system works.

  4. I mean, that’s only fair. The funds are supposed to help create a more cohesive European economy. If we’re doing better than expected and some countries are struggling, the funds should be switched over to them.

  5. The increase in GDP is greater than the decrease in funding. Croatia is doing well – good job all you coastline-stealers (/s, obviously)
