Iceland voted in a referendum Saturday to decide whether to resume talks on joining the European Union (EU). The vote comes nearly 13 years after negotiations were broken off. The result is expected to be close. Bifrost University politics professor Eirikur Bergmann says “voters here seem to be completely split in half” and that he believes the result will depend on which side is “more enthusiastic on the issue.”
