LOWELLVILLE, OH — That’s one way to answer the bell. After coming up short in Week 1, Lowellville came out swinging Friday night and never took its foot off the gas, piling up touchdowns in bunches on the way to a 50-21 win over Lisbon.

The victory gets the Rockets into the win column and moves both squads to 1-1 through two weeks. Lowellville got the party started when Brody Daniels punched it in from a yard out for the first six of the night.

Then the Rockets started letting it fly. Quarterback Ricky Willrich hooked up with Carter Hvisdak for a 21-yard touchdown, with Daniel Huff adding the two-point conversion to stretch the lead to 14-0.

Lisbon answered behind Cooper Terdina, who powered across the goal line from two yards out to cut the deficit to 14-7.

That only woke up the Lowellville offense. Huff ripped off a 31-yard touchdown run, and Willrich found Hvisdak for the two-point conversion. Less than 70 seconds later, Willrich struck again, dropping a 33-yard touchdown pass to Huff before connecting with Daniels for two more.

Just like that, the Rockets had turned a one-score game into a 30-7 runaway. Willrich stayed locked in after the break. He found Hvisdak for an 18-yard touchdown, giving the duo their second scoring connection of the night and pushing the lead to 36-7.

Lisbon quarterback Grant Minor answered with a 10-yard touchdown run, but Lowellville had another haymaker ready. Willrich uncorked a 47-yard touchdown strike to Anthony Kacir, then went right back to Kacir for the two-point conversion to make it 44-14.

The Blue Devils kept battling. Minor connected with Terdina for a 14-yard touchdown, giving Terdina his second trip to the end zone.

Lowellville got the last word. Michael Alfano punched in a 9-yard touchdown run in the final minute to put the finishing touches on a 50-point night.

Willrich was the trigger man for a Rockets offense that was firing on all cylinders, tossing four touchdown passes to three different targets. Hvisdak hauled in two scores, while Huff did damage both on the ground and through the air.

Lowellville will try to keep the offense cooking when the Rockets travel to East Canton next week. Lisbon heads back home looking to rebound when the Blue Devils welcome Waterloo.
