It doesn’t sound like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marco Rubio will be bonding over a big bowl of sauerkraut aboard Air Force One anytime soon.

The Health and Human Services secretary responded to the secretary of state making fun of his sauerkraut-heavy diet during the closing moments of a Saturday town hall on Fox News, with host Kayleigh McEnany getting Kennedy’s reaction to Rubio telling Katie Miller, the wife of Trump aide Stephen Miller, he was not following the same meal plan.

“This is a diet that consists of eating sauerkraut and meat… he has to travel with coolers of sauerkraut,” Rubio scoffed, while throwing up his hands in faux-disbelief. “I’m not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut.”

Rubio’s wife Jeannette Rubio jumped in and said Rubio’s diet is centered around a more juvenile staple: Pop Tarts.

“No, I don’t eat Pop Tarts every day,” Rubio protested, before admitting he was a big fan. “The Pop Tart is one of the great American innovations.”

He added later on X his favorite flavor was cherry.

McEnany played Kennedy the clip of Rubio dissing his sauerkraut love and then asked, “Do you have your cooler of sauerkraut?”

“No, I didn’t bring it with me,” RFK Jr. said.

He then smirked, pointed at the camera, and sided with Jeannette Rubio.

“He does carry Pop Tarts everywhere he goes,” Kennedy said of Rubio.

The audience ate it up and the show ended there. It was a lighthearted end to a town hall which touched on more serious topics earlier, including Kennedy slamming the mainstream press and “demagogue” politicians like Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) for scaring the American public over measles.

And while Rubio may not be downing a bunch of fermented cabbage, his pal Vice President JD Vance does.

The Wall Street Journal reported Vance has been “committed” to a sauerkraut-heavy diet since Lent earlier this year, and the weight loss he attributes to the diet has led to President Donald Trump seeing him as the GOP frontrunner for 2028.

Watch above via Saturday in America.
