He sets his deckchair down somewhere on the ridge near the Ebnefluh / Äbeni Flue, looking SSW. The near-exact location is 46.507N, 7.948E or https://goo.gl/maps/Kytev71Tcv445Bqm8.
The ridge is at the south end of the Lauterbrunnental, on the border with Canton Valais. Off to the left is Konkordiaplatz and the upper reaches of the Aletschgletscher.
