Fresh off the biggest performance of her career, Masai Russell will look to add another major accolade to her growing list this week. The 100m hurdles Olympic champion and newly crowned World Record holder is set to compete for her first-ever Diamond League Trophy at the Brussels Diamond League Final this Saturday, September 5, LIVE on FloTrack.
Russell enters Brussels riding the momentum of a historic performance in Zurich, where she shattered the women’s 100m hurdles World Record with a stunning 12.09 seconds. The performance added another chapter to an already impressive resume that includes Olympic Gold, an NCAA Record, and an American Record.
Now, there is another trophy within reach. A Diamond League title would be a new accomplishment for Russell and a fitting way to continue one of the most dominant stretches of her career. Russell has won all 10 of the 100m hurdles finals she has competed in this season, including six victories on the 2026 Diamond League circuit.
After breaking the World Record on Friday, she heads to Brussels with the chance at another defining moment.
“The job’s not done yet. The only thing I’m thinking about right now is the next two races I’ve got to run,” Russell told FloTrack’s Athlete’s Lounge hosts minutes after breaking the World Record in Zurich. “We still have a Diamond League Trophy to win. I’ve still got to win [World Athletics Ultimate Championships]. I said I’m done running fast times without leaving with something. So like I said, the job’s not done.”
