Roman Anthony, Trevor Story reinstated, Red Sox announce
Anthony, Story return to roster ahead of series finale against Yankees
BOSTON —
Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony and shortstop Trevor Story were both reinstated to the team’s roster Sunday, the Red Sox announced.
Anthony, 22, returns after he was placed on the injured list on May 7 after suffering a right wrist sprain.
Anthony played eight games with the Woo Sox and Double-A Portland while rehabbing his injury. Anthony hit two home runs, 7 RBI and two doubles during his rehab stint.
Story was also placed on the injured list on May 16 with a sports hernia. Story also played 10 rehab games with the WooSox.
The Red Sox also announced that catcher/first baseman Mickey Gasper and infielder Anthony Siegler would move to the WooSox.
The moves came hours before the Red Sox lost the season series against the Yankees Sunday afternoon.
