Hungarian women’s handball’s traditional rival Gyo ̋ Audi ETO KC won their first trophy of the 2026/27 season, beating the FTC-Toyota Kovács 30-24 in the first Super Cup in 11 years.
Kyodo Audi faced off at the 2026 Hungarian Women’s Handball Super Cup at the MET Arena in Sekeshpehervar, Hungary on the 30th.
It was also the 120th game in the history of the two teams’ confrontation. The Hungarian League and the defending Hungarian Cup champion, Kyodo Audi, made Ferencvaros’ attack difficult from the beginning of the game with a strong defense. While both teams rarely scored, a tight 1-1 match continued until the 5th minute of the first half.

Catechism maintained a narrow lead with goalkeeper Silje Kristensen’s save. He led 5-4 in the 12th minute of the first half, and he actively used pivot in strong defensive walls and attacks, widening the gap to 9-7 in the 20th minute of the first half. However, Ferencvarosi also did not easily back down as he fought back at the end of the first half.
Ferencvaro scored a 12-12 tie in the 27th minute of the first half and succeeded in turning the tables 13-12. However, Kyodo regained the flow at a critical moment with goalkeeper Toft making a series of saves. On top of that, Deila scored her first official goal of the game after joining Kyodo, finishing with a 14-13 lead in the first half.
In the second half, Kyori maintained the lead by continuing strong pressure in defense. Sarah Boukitt scored to start the second half, and Ferencvarosi used his numerical advantage to chase, but Kyodo overcame the crisis with a 7m draw by goalkeeper Sako. In the 36th minute of the second half, the doctrine was still ahead 16-15.
From the 40th minute of the second half, the doctrine began to run away in earnest. He used his numerical advantage to break the long-running tie flow and even succeeded in counterattack to lead 18-16. Sako and Toft made crucial saves whenever Ferencvaros tried to chase again with a 7m draw, and with Bruna de Paula’s score, Doctrine regained a three-goal lead.
In the 47th minute of the second half, De Paula was sent off for intentional foot use, and the doctrine was in crisis, but Ferencvaros failed to take full advantage of the numerical advantage. Rather, the doctrine maintained a 20-17 lead as Toft prevented a decisive one-on-one situation.
Kyory then aggressively targeted the empty goal against Ferencvaros’ 7-man and 7-on-5 attacks. In the 51st minute of the second half, he ran to 23-18 to win the game. Ferencvarosi followed up until 25-23 in the 55th minute of the second half as Ferencvaros launched his final counterattack, but the gap widened again at the critical moment of the doctrine.
In particular, Slovenian center back Stanko led the attack and decided the game. Stanko scored the most goals for both teams with 11 goals and was named the man of the match. Kyodo remained focused until the end of the game, securing the victory 30-24.
The victory marked Kyory’s 70th career victory over Ferencvaros to win the Super Cup, his first trophy of the 2026/27 season. Catechism, who beat rivals in the Hungarian Super Cup again after 11 years, started the new season in the most pleasing way.
