The Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) has become one of the foundations of the emerging Eurasian world — as stated by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel, sb.by reports

According to Mr. Ryzhenkov, Belarus consistently puts forward relevant initiatives within the SCO framework to strengthen co-operation among member states on a wide range of issues. “This includes cross-border co-operation, security issues, reducing terrorist threats, and economic concerns,” the FM underlined. “As you can see, the organisation’s scope is very large, covering nearly all of Central Asia. The core members — China, India, Pakistan — occupy a significant part of the Eurasian space. It represents a vast market of over three billion people, which is rapidly advancing both scientifically and technologically. I believe our organisation also serves as a foundation for the emerging Eurasian world.”
The government has high expectations for the SCO Development Bank, whose creation was largely agreed upon at last year’s summit in Tianjin, China. “The goal is to enhance settlements between countries using national currencies, resolve financial challenges, and develop plans to increase investment co-operation through the Development Bank’s funds in countries that require support,” Mr. Ryzhenkov explained.
Belarus is also keen to take part in advancing sci-tech co-operation within the SCO framework. “Countries with vast sci-tech capabilities should strengthen co-operation in science and technology development, complementing each other’s efforts with new and innovative ideas. This is particularly important when facing sanctions and restrictions, by focusing on creating their own products and advancing their own concepts,” Belarus’ Foreign Minister emphasised.
