A drone violated Moldova’s airspace on Aug. 30, during a Russian attack on Ukraine, crossing the state border in the area of Dnestrovsc in the breakaway Transnistria region, according to Moldova’s Defense Ministry press service.
The aerial object was reportedly detected at 3:50 p.m. local time. It entered Moldovan airspace from the direction of the village of Lymanske in Ukraine’s Odesa Oblast.
At 3:59 p.m., the object left Moldovan airspace and crossed back over the state border, following the same route — from Dnestrovsc back toward Lymanske.
“The unauthorized overflight of our country’s airspace occurred as a result of today’s Russian aerial attacks on Ukraine,” the ministry said.
On Aug. 27, Moldova detected five drones in its airspace amid a Russian attack on Ukraine.
On Aug. 26, Moldova’s Defense Ministry reported that a drone had violated the country’s airspace during a Russian attack on Ukraine. That drone entered Moldovan airspace near the village of Palanca and later exited the country, crossing the border with Ukraine near Hradenytsi in Odesa Oblast.
