Employer holding on to a few hunder euros for the past few months, and promising to pay it later. Never paid. Where can I report them? I figured there’s [https://www.vero.fi/en/About-us/contact-us/efil/reporting-suspected-tax-evasion/](https://www.vero.fi/en/About-us/contact-us/efil/reporting-suspected-tax-evasion/) for reporting tax evasion (which is probably the case here too) but need to get the wage first.

  1. Not an expert, but they need to pay the correct salary. There might be some difference on the outcome whether you have agreed to some delay or not. I found this from an union website, where they advise to inform the employer and accountant of the wrongly paid salary. They need to pay and you should ask for a reason for non-payment. If they state that they cannot afford to pay, you can get the salary from Ely-office who then collects the payment from the employer. If you belong to an union, maybe contact them.

I’m not 100% sure if you can do this due to unpaid salaries, but I think if you want to be a real asshole, you could contact a lawyer to see if you could set in montion bankruptcy proceedings against the company. Obviously this will cost you more than the unpaid salary, but it would also cost your employer more.

  3. I hope I’m not late with this, but join the union. That’s really the only way to get proper support, but you usually need to have been a member for a few months before the services kick in to avoid freeriding.
