The resident of Vilnius is identified as Deividas Stanulevičius, aged 27.
In the past, he used to organise minibus trips to Lithuania, Poland, and Belarus, whereas most recently he offered tourist trips, including to the Belarusian part of the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
According to “Nasha Niva, two-day trips were on the route Vilnius–Lida–Minsk–Gomel– Khoiniki, with a visit to the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
The last such trip was announced on 23 February 2026 and the next one was planned for 6 March.
However, the Lithuanian man was reportedly soon arrested at the border in Belarus.
The Minsk City Court found him guilty of “facilitating extremist activity” and he has been imprisoned since.
The essence of the charges is unclear as often is the case in political cases in Belarus.
It is noted in the report that Belarusian authorities consider “extremism” to be the demand for free and fair elections, any criticism of the government, expression of solidarity with Ukraine and statements against war.
