Trying to find family history, questions in comments

  1. So this started because I was curious, as an American citizen, if I could move to Germany under German descendant laws. My grandmother is from Germany and my grandfather is from Luxembourg. They both moved to the United States and had my father. From what I’ve researched I cannot get German citizenship unless one of my parents were born there OR if my grandparent was Jewish. My grandparents were in their 40s when they had my father (in the US) and I never learned more about them other than some German traditions… but according to ancestry my grandmother spoke Hebrew German. From what I’ve learned, I can apply for citizenship if my grandparent left Germany as a Jew, which I believe she was as she left in 1937 and her Ellis island papers say she spoke Hebrew German. So my question is… how can I find out more about this? If anyone has questions about my family I can answer to my best ability. I am just curious about what my options are. Thank you
