Luxury hospitality brand Aman has partnered with Shinsegae Property to construct its first mixed-use complex in Seoul, South Korea.
The move marks Aman’s entry into the South Korean market.
The project will be located in the Cheongdam-dong neighbourhood within the city’s Gangnam District.
The planned structure will cover around 70,000m², comprising 38 storeys above ground and eight subterranean floors.
According to a report on The Korea Times, the site will feature a hotel, 49 branded residential units, retail premises, and spaces designated for cultural activities.
For this project, Shinsegae Property will oversee development strategy, planning, and execution while Aman will be responsible for the architecture and design.
According to the report, the design will merge “Korean spatial aesthetics” with “Aman’s design philosophy”.
The hospitality company will also operate the hotel, as well as the residences and community facilities under a long-term management contract.
On-site amenities will include a wellness centre and spa, brand dining venues, and an exclusive private club equipped with a fitness centre, lounge, and swimming pool for residents and international members.
Shinsegae Group chairman Chung Yong-jin was quoted by The Korea Times as saying that Aman Seoul would become a new landmark for Seoul’s high-end lifestyle market.
Aman Group chairman Vlad Doronin stated that the project would create a new base for its brand in the city.
The Seoul scheme stems from an agreement signed in July between Chung and Doronin to set up a joint venture for hospitality developments linked to Aman Group.
