Gas leak prompts shelter-in-place order in Summerfield

SUMMERFIELD, Fla. (WCJB)— An active gas leak was reported in the Del Webb Spruce Creek community, near Southeast 89th Court and Del Webb Boulevard in Summerfield.

Deputies have blocked off the entrance to Del Webb Boulevard at Highway 441. Officials say a main gas line was hit, resulting in a major gas leak.

Residents in the area were advised to shelter in place and were told not to go outside. Officials are asking people to avoid the area.
