France’s government will follow the central bank’s recommendation to raise the interest rate on regulated savings products used by millions of households after the Iran war spurred inflation.

“Based on the proposal of Bank of France Governor Emmanuel Moulin, I’ve decided to increase the rate on the Livret A from 1.5% to 1.7% as of Aug. 1,” Finance Minister Roland Lescure said on TF1 TV.
