  1. Isn’t this scheme usually pulled by jumping in front a car that’s slowly coming to a stop?
Brave and innovative to try to use a running child.

  2. Damn it I tripped over a kid in lidl once, didn’t realize I could sue them for it! I could have gotten a lifetime supply of toffee yumyums!

  3. >Mr Kearney told the court he was not presenting any evidence other than the CCTV on behalf of Lidl.

Translated from lawyer-speak : “She’s fucked. We know she’s fucked, *she* knows she’s fucked, and in about 10 minutes the Judge will tell her she’s fucked.” <mike drop>

  4. “Barrister Conor Kearney, who appeared with MacSweeney Solicitors, Galway, for Lidl, told Judge Berkeley that Ms Zhang had initially pleaded her right leg had been injured but later told doctors it was her left leg.”

Well it is very challenging to get the most basic fucking detail of your lie straight.

  5. Senior Financial Accountant at LogMeIn, so it’s not like she’s in the poor house.

    Just a straight up cunt.

Shame on that legal team for accepting her case. The fact they deliberately excluded the moment she tripped the kid proves that they knew damn well she was lying.

  6. “boy aged about nine-years-old, who had been running amok in full view of staff”

WHY DON’T THE STAFF GIVE THE KID A BEATING, it could’ve prevented this whole tragedy

  7. Realistically speaking, what could staff have done about the child? You can ask them to stop or leave but if they refuse you can’t do much more or risk a lawsuit, one that they might lose.

  8. Fair enough report the case but it really boils my piss that Irish papers keep insisting on proclaiming these dismissed cases as “€60,000” claims. That’s the jurisdiction of the Circuit Court you uneducated, fear mongering, click bait dolts!

  9. “Judge Berkeley dismissed Ms Zhang’s claim and awarded costs against her.”

    Cha-ching. gg mister judge.

  10. This reminds me of the time my dad was sued. He was a shopkeeper and someone had a minor incident in the shop which was all their own fault. Cctv backed it up too.

After legal letters and all sorts for about a year, we find out that the person had left the country 9 months earlier when their visa expired and couldn’t be contacted.

It seems that the had an initial consultation with a solicitor who then just ran with this in the hope of a payout.

Everything was dropped when the insurance company said that they wouldn’t settle, and they fully intended on going to court and we’re looking forward to it.

  11. Why do firms take these cases ffs?

Surely during discovery they can get these tapes and tell their client to piss off

  12. She assaulted the child, made false sworn statements and attempted to commit fraud.

Has to be a couple of years jail time in there somewhere. Until we start to jail these compo scammers they won’t stop.

  13. This woman could have stood back and let that child be a child, smiled compassionately and gone back to her shopping. How normal would that have been ?
