New Delhi, September 3(APAC Media): NIELIT and Intel India have launched two Agentic AI skilling programmes as India looks to prepare students and professionals for AI-driven changes in the workplace.
The programmes were announced at a National Leadership Dialogue on “Preparing the Future Workforce for the Agentic AI Era” held in New Delhi on September 3. The event brought together representatives from the government, academia, industry and the skilling sector to discuss changing workforce requirements linked to artificial intelligence.
Agentic AI Skilling
The NIELIT-Intel initiative includes “Agentic AI for Everyone” and “Engineering Agentic AI Systems”. The first programme covers AI agents, workflow automation and multi-agent systems, with practical training through no-code platforms.
The second programme takes a more technical approach. It covers agent architecture, tool integration, orchestration, memory and deployment, using both low-code and code-based frameworks.
Focus On AI Workforce
The discussions also focused on updating curricula, improving faculty readiness and giving learners more practical exposure to AI systems. Government representatives highlighted the need to build a larger AI talent pipeline as the technology moves beyond generative AI towards systems that can plan and execute tasks with limited human intervention.
Government-Industry Collaboration
NIELIT Director General Madan Mohan Tripathi said the collaboration would combine NIELIT’s nationwide skilling network with Intel’s technology expertise. The programmes are expected to be made available to learners and institutions across India.
The initiative comes as AI skills become increasingly important across education, technology and other sectors, making workforce training a key part of India’s broader AI strategy.
