The Irish Volunteer Monument in Orania, South Africa to commemorate the Irish who fought in the Boer War

  1. Would that be MacBrides brigade? Irish commandos and volunteer fighters sided with the Boers against the British?

Had been a history of Irish support for the Boers. Parnell and the Home Rulers supported the Boers to prevent British Annexation. Connolly himself led a protest in Dublin in 1899 against British rule over there.

  2. Europeans had no business being over there, on either side. Two groups of imperialists beating the shit out of one another to decide who gets to steal the natural resources from the Zulus. I hope the Irish government isn’t involved in maintaining this thing.
