Chattanooga Gas Company is starting an easement project in the City of Collegedale that could cause lane closures in the area.

The City of Collegedale says the project will not cause any full road closures. It will result in single-lane traffic control. Business and property entrances will remain accessible.

Chattanooga Gas will install a new gas regulator station as part of a pressure improvement program.

City leaders say it will support existing customers and future development.

The project will require a new pipeline that will run from Bill Reed Road to Ooltewah-Ringgold Road.

Chattanooga Gas will place the regulator station on City-owned property at 4815 Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, approved by the City Commission on August 17.

The City expects the project to begin the week of September 14.
