She was the ISIS bride of the past, used by the king and taken advantage of.
One of the fun part of glorifying criminal actions of the past monarchs.
I still prefer her to Marianne, the allegory of our republic. Joan did existed, did hold the royal flag in battles, did skyrocketed the moral of a collapsed army, saved the weakened monarchy and contributed to reunify the country by chasing the Plantagenets forces.
She is also a real female heroin from the Middle Ages wich is pretty rare. Yet the leader of our biggest left party mocked her and feminists don’t give a shit about the greatest female heroin of our History
I still find it funny how, if you read what everyone thought about her back then, you get that she was pretty much the official waifu of the French.
Jeanne d’Arc, definitely one of The most popular and famous women of the medieval times.
1492 Columbus
I’m honestly amazed we don’t have more films about her, especially the details written concerning her trial. You could make a whole film about the English using Catholic theology in trying to get her to incriminate herself as a heretic.

Fun fact: during WW1, lots of french soldiers had a “pucelle” (“virgin”) badge [like this one](https://www.defense.gouv.fr/var/dicod/storage/images/base-de-medias/images/actualites/images-actu/pucelle/5376318-1-fre-FR/pucelle.jpg) sewn inside their military jacket. It was a small figure of Joan of Arc for good luck and to boost their moral.
