GDANSK, Poland (WKRC) – Dramatic surveillance video captured the moment a train slammed into a truck trailer that became stuck on railroad tracks in Poland.
The crash happened Thursday near the Gdansk Lipce station.
The train’s driver was taken to a hospital. The truck driver and passengers aboard the train were not injured, according to Polish Railway Lines. (Polish Railway Lines SA via Storyful/CBS Newspath)
Video released by Polish Railway Lines shows the truck beginning to cross the tracks with the gates raised before the barriers suddenly start coming down.
The driver stopped with the trailer still on the tracks as other motorists urged him to drive through the crossing gate to get out of the train’s path.
The truck then began moving forward, but seconds later, the approaching PKP Intercity train slammed into the trailer, sending debris flying.

The railway company released the footage as a warning to drivers about what to do if they become trapped at a crossing.
“Break through the barrier and immediately leave the crossing,” the company said.
