The Brussels haven known as La Boîte à Musique shut down today.
The business will continue online and staff will still be available to advise on phone but the inexorable disapperance of the record store as a social entity is accelerating.
As one commentator puts it: ‘the dematerialization of records has led to the disappearance of the places that housed them’.
