
Enthusiasts conducted graphics benchmarks of the arcade racing simulator Need for Speed Heat, integrating NVIDIA DLSS 5 neural network rendering technology at 1440p. The main objective of the test was to evaluate the quality of Palm City’s nighttime atmosphere, dynamic lighting, and street neon signs. The project was run at a target frame rate of 60 FPS, allowing for a detailed examination of geometry behavior, complex contact shadows, and the scattering of artificial headlights on wet pavement.
Testing was conducted on a modern personal computer with the latest hardware configuration. The system included a 14-core Intel Core i5-13600KF processor, a discrete GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER graphics card with 12GB of video memory, 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz, an ASRock B760 Pro RS motherboard, a fast 2TB Crucial P5 Plus solid-state drive, and a power supply. Gigabyte UD850GM with 850W power. The image was output to a 27-inch Lenovo Legion monitor with an OLED panel and a refresh rate of 240Hz.
The implementation of DLSS 5 algorithms eliminated the visual defects of the original TAA anti-aliasing, removing pixel flickering on fine lines and restoring the clarity of road surface texture. The neural network filter reworked the reflection structure in car paint and puddles, making light and shadow transitions physically correct. The hardware handled tensor block calculations without frame rate drops or input lag.
