But that looks the same as mine, and you can make chips for four in it no bother.
You can’t fill them to the brim like the photo
Just know that filling them up like that (not even that high) can mean you’ve to try stir them to get other chips chrispy. Tbh, for chips I find the oven faster, especially with an aerated tray.
And also know, most of the drawers, you can’t put in a dishwasher to clean so you’ve to hand wash the grease & stuff off them.
I love my airfryer and find it super useful for me, but not sure I’d be rushing out to get one for anything over 2 people.
I saw these. What’s the big deal about air fryers? I see people saying they are great, so I’m tempted to buy one. What do they do well, is it a time saving thing or healthy way of cooking? I’m just curious as to the benefits.
I wouldn’t say a family of 4 for chips anyway unless they were small portions handy for other stuff
You’d prob have to chop them up if there’s 4 of them…
No. If I was you I’d get a double 1. We have 1 similar to this and it just about does the 2 of us.
You’ll never fit 4 people in that.
Bought my Dad one a few years ago. He was dismissive at first, because, grumpy old man.
But I got him a cookbook to go along with it.
He cooks fish ‘without the house stinking’, and curries, sausages, chips etc.
He just cooks for himself, but he likes the convenience of it, and how easy it is to clean.
Truly it would depend on how much you are cooking, but I do like the chips out of an air fryer
I have the same one as pictured.
I’ve had one for three years and it’s used daily. Everything including chicken, chips, pastries, veg, granola and much more. Can even do a cake if you have a pan small enough. Great for reheating pizza slices and other stuff too.
However this size it’s not big enough for family of 4, I’d recommend looking out for one of those dual air fryers which have 2 baskets.
I did a comparison between the energy used in the oven vs the air fryer and the air fryer saves a fortune.
fun fact air fryers are just small convection ovens. You’re paying 56 euro to get a second, smaller, oven that can “air fry” (convection cook on high heat) food
Aren’t air fryers just mini ovens?
Depends on what you’d like to cook, I suppose. Chips, probably yes. Chicken, you might need to go twice… We have a similar one and at most I’ve used it for 2 people.
They’re handy, but I wouldn’t be using it to make a big family meal. More like “I want a chicken sandwich or two for lunch, so I’ll cook two chicken breasts in here”
If I were you I’d get a multi-cooker. Comes with an “air fryer” (just a table-top convection oven) and other more useful features. The Ninja ones are great, I’d swear by them to help cook for a family of four.
That pic is definitely altered to make ot look like there is more room inside. Theyre not that big. Maybe you would cook enough chips for 2.
Well recommended imo. I had one while I lived in the desert of the Northern Territories for a couple of months and I swear to this day it’s the only way to cook sweet potato fries correctly if you’re culinary challenged like me
That’s a small enough one for a family of 4. Aim for 6 or 7L minimum I’d say. If you can afford it those ninja ones are the business!
They are basically just mini ovens but they are far quicker and more energy efficient and easier to clean. An all round upgrade for your average oven dinner. Like chicken breasts, veggies, chips and stuff like that. I find we only use the oven now for bigger things like a lasagna or making bread or something like that.
I don’t have one but my understanding is they work so well because they are small and you’re only cooking something small in them like they can’t be used to feed 4 people unless you cook in batches.
Them chips won’t be cooked well being that full or at all. I’ll say that much
So do you just chop up some potatoes, mix them with oil and spices, and throw them into the fryer?
I love my airfryer so much that, when it broke the other day, I taught myself to disassemble it completely, find the fault, and put it back together fixed. Works perfect again. The fan’s locknut came loose, washer jammed in the blades as a result so the fan stopped working. Saved me a few quid, AND I get perfect rashers again! 😁👌🏻
This is great advertising.
If you have a convection oven with a grill, it’s identical but much bigger. I started using the combo for anything that needs to be crispy or browned and it’s awesome. Cooking times are way, way down. Try it people, follow me into the light.
Depends how much they eat.
The value of an air fryer is in it basically outputting a small volume of food, for like 2 people at a time. It’s the fact that it can basically do the forced air function on an oven to a tiny area, which is why it’s quick.
Trying to get a bigger air fryer won’t work I think.
Honestly…
They’re great. You can fit plenty in and takes so much hassle away from cooking and actually does a good job in cooking things evenly just gotta make sure chips are tossed over otherwise one side will be burned and the other will be golden and uncooked.
Get a double basket one, it’s a balls trying to make a meal doing one thing at a time.
An air fryer is basically a small oven. They’re great for single people or students in limited space, or just doing small batches of things. For a family of 4, you might be better off just using an oven. [How To Cook That](https://youtu.be/sYnMng8LLyU) did a great video about the upsides and limitations of air fryers as compared to ovens and actual fryers.
it’s just an over-rated fan oven. Honestly, do yourself a favour and buy a tabletop oven instead. And a chip tray, it’ll do a far better job, and cost you less than these fucking things.
From experience, you would NOT be able to fit an entire family of 4 in there.
Air fryers are just small ovens. There’s literally no need for them unless you live in an over priced apartment in Dublin with no oven.
Get a 10 litre one or bigger. I have a 5L and you can only do 4 chicken kievs in it.
I love my air fryer, mines smaller than this since I’m single and only need it for me. But I’ve found it’s made life so much simpler. In the morning I throw in some sausages and a par baked roll and its done in ten minutes. If I’m making something simple like curry from a jar, I’ll cook the chicken in the air fryer while the rice is cooking in a pot. When the rice is done I use the same pot to coat the chicken in sauce and heat it. Most recipes I treat like this, throw something quick in the air fryer, add to it after it’s cooked.
