Norway gains share in Sweden”s softwood log imports in Q2 2026

Norway increased its share of Sweden’s softwood log imports by 17 percentage points in April-June 2026. Latvia lost 9 pp of Sweden’s imports. Sweden imported 1.4 million m3 in the quarter, according to Lesprom Analytics.

Germany imported 932 thousand m3. Norway increased its share of Germany’s imports by 17 pp. Poland lost 13 pp of Germany’s imports.

In India, the United States increased its share of imports by 8 pp. Australia lost 15 pp of India’s imports. In China, the United States increased its share of imports by 2 pp.

Germany shipped 766 thousand m3 less than a year earlier in the quarter. Norway shipped 291 thousand m3 more over the same period.

Canada imported 110 thousand m3 in April-June 2026. The United States was Canada’s sole supplier.

In the first half of 2026, Norway shipped 570 thousand m3 more than a year earlier. Germany shipped 1.2 million m3 less over the same period.
