The Korea Financial Investment Association and chief executives of domestic brokerages are visiting Germany and Luxembourg to identify investment opportunities in new growth areas including artificial intelligence, digital finance and the space industry.

The association said on the 7th that a delegation called Securities NPK, or New Portfolio Korea, made up of Chairman Hwang Sung-yeop and CEOs of 14 brokerages, began its trip to Germany and Luxembourg the previous day. The delegation will remain on the ground through the 12th of this month. The visit was arranged to review the latest trends in AI, digital finance and the space industry, and to expand the Korean securities industry’s global partnership network.

The delegation will first attend IFA 2026, Europe’s largest consumer electronics and technology show, in Berlin. There it will examine how far advanced technologies such as AI, smart homes, robotics and digital healthcare have been commercialized and how industries are changing, in search of new investment opportunities for capital markets. It plans to focus in particular on the growth potential and value chain shifts in on-device AI, humanoid and physical AI, and next-generation mobility.

In Luxembourg, the itinerary broadens to finance and the space industry. The delegation plans to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Xavier Bettel to discuss cooperation between the two countries in financial investment. It will also visit the Luxembourg Space Agency, the European Space Resources Innovation Centre and satellite operator SES to assess the commercialization of the space industry and its investment potential.

The group will also look at cases of digital transformation in European capital markets. At a seminar involving the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and HSBC, the delegation will review digital bonds and financial infrastructure based on distributed ledger technology. It will also hold a joint seminar with Technoport, a local deep-tech startup support center, to share views on commercializing new technologies and on investment opportunities in Europe’s deep-tech sector.

“AI, digital finance and the space industry are core growth areas that create new investment opportunities,” Hwang said. “We hope this visit becomes an occasion for the securities industry to read the flow of global innovation and uncover future investment opportunities.”
