I worked designing wind farms and it has almost all to do whit politics. Companies fight to get a place be suing others and convincing politicians. At one point environmental and social standards can be vulnerated, and this pisses people off.
Because greens lie telling us that a few wind gens are better than a nuclear in energy generation terms.
