Would be absolutely HILARIOUS if he does! Especially since the same sensationalistic corporate media that fed Trump’s political prominence back in 2016 would not be able to resist also giving him massive amounts of free press.
And to be honest, I do love how totally unfiltered and verbally pugnacious he is… unmatched among the Democratic field at present. Yes, the likes of AOC, Pete B. and Abdul El-Sayed are highly attractive candidates I’d enthusiastically vote for in a heartbeat, but the sad fact in this country is that there are far too many dumb swing voters who wouldn’t vote for them—enough to give us a President Vance or worse. (There are still plenty of MAGA cultists who have still not fled the fold despite all the horrors and disasters that Trump 2 has already visited upon both our country and the world.)
The worst thing that could happen is that the DNC establishment will yet again pick another wonkish, boring, hapless “play-it-safe” candidate (or re-anoint Kamala Harris, whom I happily voted for) and get yet another ass-whupping in November four years from now by a far slicker, less obviously-unhinged/decrepit version of Trump working from the same Project 2025 playbook.
