Bulgaria showed one of the largest monthly declines in services production in June 2026, while annually, services production in Bulgaria grew, as in most other EU and euro area countries, according to data published by the Statistical Office of the European Commission (Eurostat) on Monday.
Among member states for which data are available, the largest monthly decreases were recorded in Latvia (-3.7%), Germany (-2.1%) and Bulgaria (-1.1%). The highest increases were observed in Luxembourg (+7.8%), Portugal (+3.1%) and Lithuania (+2.6%).
Year on year, the largest increases were recorded in Greece (+9.3%), Slovenia (+8.5%), Estonia and Lithuania (+7.1%). Bulgaria reported an increase by 5.9%. Declines were recorded in Denmark (-6.5%), Germany (-0.6%), Italy (-0.5%) and Austria (-0.1%).
Across the EU, seasonally adjusted services production decreased by 0.2% in June 2026 compared with May 2026, and in the euro area, it dropped by 0.3%. Compared with June 2025, it increased by 1.5% in both the EU and the euro area.
