ATHENS – Greece’s GDP rose by 1.9% in the second quarter of this year compared with the corresponding quarter of 2025. According to quarterly national accounts data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), GDP also increased by 0.3% compared with the first quarter of this year.

More specifically:

Total final consumption expenditure rose by 1.3% (household consumption increased by 1.7%, while General Government consumption rose by 1%).

Private investment (gross fixed capital formation) increased by 6.1%.

Exports of goods and services rose by 2.2%. Goods exports increased by 6.6%, while services exports fell by 1.7%.

Imports of goods and services increased by 3.7%. Goods imports rose by 2%, while services imports increased by 8.3%.

Quarter on quarter growth rates:

Total final consumption expenditure increased by 0.2% (household consumption rose by 0.9%, while General Government consumption fell by 2.1%).

Gross fixed capital formation increased by 2.2%.

Exports of goods and services rose by 0.5%. Goods exports increased by 2.6%, while services exports fell by 1.4%.

Imports of goods and services increased by 0.6%. Goods imports fell by 0.4%, while services imports rose by 3.3%.
